The Best Part of Waking Up...

Is opening the carton of eggs to find a wonderful Scripture verse. :-)

Has anyone noticed the rise of food prices in recent weeks? I normally always shop at Meijer. It's close and I feel they do have good sale prices. But I have been doing some of my shopping at Aldi's the last few weeks and have found that I'm getting a lot more for my money. Of course, the only draw back is there are several things they either don't have or certain off-brands which we just don't like. I have found that their 10 lb. bag of potatoes for $1.99 makes for some excellent tasting potatoes. Their eggs are cheaper at $1.59. Plus you get the little Scripture verse inscribed on the carton, which is really neat way to start the day!

Sorry I should have been more specific with who I tagged. Yes, you are one of the five I chose! :)

The rising price of food AND gas has been the bane of our existence in recent weeks! Very frustrating! But I wouldn't mind a little scripture with my eggs, either!

I hadn't noticed the Scripture in the eggs, mainly because I tend to be lazy and get all the shopping over with in one giant trip to Walmart. I've been trying to do better, with the costs in mind.

There are some things I love to get at Aldi's (chips, milk, eggs, cheese, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, spaghetti sauce, parmesan cheese, select-a-size paper towel, potatoes, onions, cinnamon applesauce - my kids won't eat any other brand - to name a few) because they are cheaper and I personally think the taste/quality is equal to or better than other brands (particularly their bar cheese- I hate when I have to pick it up elsewhere!). But there are also things I refuse to buy there. And I too love that they have a Scripture verse on their eggs :) I buy what I like at Aldi's and then fill in with trips to WalMart or sales at Meijer or Kroger. I give or take on their cereal. Sometimes I can get it as cheap at the other stores and I do that when I can. I don't particularly care for their vegetables and I refuse to buy most frozen meat there (had a bad experience when sickly pg with my last one -ugh!)

Oops, sorry for the book. I guess I should have posted the sequel to yours on my own blog :)
